Awesome machine
I use my blender daily to make a green smoothie pre-workout. I also use it to make protein balls and it can handle nuts and dates without any issues. It's wonderful and has a lot of great features. No need for a Vitamix or Thermamix when you have this one!
Exactly what I was after!
After much internet research, my wife and I decided on the Optimum over the overly priced Vitamix and we are super happy about our decision. We are smoothie junkies and love how smooth and creamy the Optimum makes every smoothie no matter what we toss in there, kale, nuts, chia, protein powders, etc. Also makes great nut butters.
best blender I've used
my optimum 8200 is used daily. Easiest and most proficient way to get my fruits, nuts, seeds and vegetables into me? throw them into the blender. Before getting the optimum i was using a Sunbeam Cafe series - putting kale, nuts fruits and seeds in that, I'd blend them up with water, pour the resulting mix into a cup - and CHEW the result, frequently gagging. Now with the optimum I just drink m y meal. Serves me for breakfast and lunch getting all my green leafies and everything else into me that i desire.
Best entry level blender for $300.
I bought the Optimum 8200 at the start of February 2015 and have been using it at least twice daily making my kale orange banana with cold water shake for breakfast and after work snack. For $300, its worth every single dollar. I narrowed down a couple of choices such as Nutribullet, Breville etc in the $200-300 price range.
