The Anova Precision Cooker and the ThermoVide by Optimum are both appliances in the sous-vide category, a technique used by professional chefs around the world to cook meat slowly and evenly to preserve its moisture.

Both models come with LED displays, have a 360° directional pump to circulate water and have similar working capacities (12-20 litres for the ThermoVide vs 15-19 for the Anova) but the ThermoVide comes out on top in almost every other way. I just threw in the ingredients in a bag displaced the air and set the machine. Two hours later I had a perfectly cooked piece of tenderloin steak. Amazing! The steak was juicy and cooked throughout the whole piece evenly.
